After the New Year, Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church of Manville, NJ launched a new program for their college students.  Designed by Rebecca Oliver, an alumna from Penn State and a young adult within the parish, the program is called “Adopt a College Student Program”.  The program’s mission is to connect with college students, from the parish, and make sure they feel that are connected to their parish back home.  Families and parishioners were sought for to “adopt” a college student from the parish.  The families and parishioners were given a survey to better know the interests and needs of their student.  Families and parishioners then sent packages, bulletins, cards, and warm messages to their college student.  The program is very new but has been off to a great start.  It is in our prayers that our college students feel connected to their parish and return home with intentions to be involved.  It is our duty to take care of our young people and keep them connected to the Church.  They need our love and support during this pivotal time in their lives.
